Jonathan was born in 1982. He lives and works in Berlin. He received his degree in Fine Art from G.M.I.T. in 2006. He was awarded the student of the year awards in both 2005 and 2006 and was awarded the Galway City and County Council Emerging Artist Award in 2006. He received his M.A. in Visual Arts Practices from I.A.D.T. in 2010. He has exhibited his work in Ireland and internationally in exhibitions and film festivals.
In addition to his art practice, he has collaborated with a number of artists, musicians and performers as a videographer and photographer. He is a member of the artist collectives Expanded Draught and Angry Hammers.
He now works mostly as a cinematographer. Recent work includes Memory Room (2018), Funded through the Arts Council Project Award and Floating Structures (2019), Funded through the Arts Council Reel Art Scheme.
